![]() But it’s one of the very first creepy subreddits I found when I began reading Reddit some six or seven years ago, and for a long time, I popped onto it to read all the newest stories just about every day. Otherwise, you, uh… might have some problems.įor me, NoSleep is the OG creepy subreddit, even though plenty of other creepy subreddits predate it in terms of when they first hit the internet. Just… maybe try to get your reading done before the sun goes down. Take your time there’s plenty to read, and time enough at last. But me? I’ve always loved a good story (which is perhaps unsurprising, given that words are literally my bread and butter) - whether it’s long or short, or real or not real, or something in between. That said, though, there are plenty of good image-based subs about weird stuff out there r/Creepy_GIF, for example, is full of - you guessed it - supremely creepy GIFs. The list is heavy on text-based subs, rather than on image-based ones, because, well… I’m the one who wrote this post, and that’s what I find the most interesting. If you, like me, also like to read up on weird stuff in your spare time, I’ve done a little legwork for you and assembled 11 of my favorite creepy subreddits. Because I’m a weirdo with weird hobbies, and I like to read up on weird stuff in my spare time. And sometimes, it’s to read up about the strange and unusual - so it’s a good thing that there’s no shortage of creepy subreddits that will keep you up at night, isn’t it? Not going to lie: That’s the main reason I frequent Reddit. Sometimes it’s to connect with other likeminded individuals. Third Parent follows the story of a picture-perfect suburban family whose lives turn into a complete nightmare with the arrival of an unwelcome and malicious guest.People come to Reddit for all sorts of reasons. This is perhaps one of the most unsettling horror shorts I’ve ever read. I’m not giving away anything on this one- all you need to know is that it captures the horror of routine. It’s all fun and games (literally) until they hit the 34 th turn. The rules are simple, get in your car and take the first left followed by the first right and henceforth for an indefinite amount of time. It follows ambitious journalist Alice Sharma who approaches the Left/Right game with a healthy dose of scepticism. The Left/Right game is frequently considered the best piece among nosleepers and for good reason. Has anyone heard of the Left/Right Game? by u/NeonTempo ![]() Don't expect to know what's going on until the very end and when the truth is revealed- you’d prefer you didn’t know. But the good times halts when the sinister townspeople let their suspicious behaviour slip. Our innocent narrator, Sam, moves to a new town with his family where he makes new friends and starts at a new school. Unlike the previous story, which burns hot and fast, Borrasca is slow, confounding and will likely leave you in tears. Yes, I’m mentioning CK Walker twice in a row- she’s an amazing writer- sue me. ![]() The innocent adventure of coming into your own as you enter the world of frat parties and all-nighters is forever marred when it becomes clear that the girls have a dorm neighbour- of the ghoulish variety. ![]() The story follows best friends, Lydia and Becca on their college freshman journey. This particular story hit a little too close to home for my comfort. So turn off your lights and prepare to be spooked but don't forget “Everything is true here, even if it’s not.” 1. I’ve spent years sieving through the posts and combing the chats and these are my absolute favourite stories. The immersive nature of the sub blurs the lines between fact and fiction and often leaves you with the intense feeling of foreboding. The NoSleep subreddit allows authors from all over the world to share their experiences and flex their creative muscles. Reddit is a treasure trove for horror enthusiasts aiming to delve deeper into the frightening and unsettling.
